Faeryhell The Mythology

Faeryhell was born during a charity concert organized for small children from a third-world country, at the white cross of Saint-Leu la Forêt (department 95 in France) on December 1995. The band is then formed of five members (Franck, Gérald, Ronan, Léo, Nadège) of which the actual singer and drummer, who benefited largely from the train strikes letting them rehearse instead of going in class. Faeryhell gets a new bass guitarist and finds Greg at the beginning of 1996. The band changes its repertory, taking out AC/DC type songs and "making-chicks-cry ballads", for more heavy titles.

No Place For Tour 96-98

They progressed during a few years on the traditional Heavy Metal and Hard Rock road, doing covers of Iron Maiden, Guns'n'Roses, Tesla, and doing a few gigs in the Val d'Oise. It's the period of the "No place for tour 96-98", the longest tour in Hard Rock history, and also the shortest in number of gigs. A one hour set of compositions and covers, a great crowd and a great pleasure of playing.
But the band doesn't progress anymore, the different points of musical views get it down, and the band splits in pain at the beginning of 1999. The guitarists (Franck and Gérald) leaving the band, Faeryhell considers changing everything, working method and musical style, so it's now Power-Metal which interests them.

The Metamorphosis

Weirdly, at that time, finding a guitarist wanting to do power metal is hard, but the band finally finds Christophe in july 1999. During a year they play to get back at a good level in their repertory. François, a friend of Christophe, joins the band and brings to the music a keyboard rich of classical arrangements. The band leaves a Stratovarius kind of metal, to embrace a more progressive and symphonic style.
During the year 2000, Christophe leaves the band and at the end of the year 2000 Hicham and Damien become the new guitarists, bringing their freshness and motivation to a band which seems to have completed its metamorphosis. 2001 is a serene year, when the covers cease to exist, the band concentrates itself only on composition and progresses effectively in a "progressive power metal" style.

Now and Then ...

At the end of 2001 François leaves the band for personal reasons, Faeryhell finds itself without a keyboardist and without an important member who put his diversified musical culture into Faeryhell's music. The band continues in the same way with more technical equipment and more self investment.
April 2002, a second Greg appears in the band, this new keyboardist completes Faeryhell's line up who continues more then ever to write.
July 2003, Hicham leaves the band to concentrate himself completely to his work, Faeryhell is back to one guitarist. Although it is decided not to refuse the coming of a solist, the members of the band judge it better to continue working with this line up. The compositions complete themselves, new songs are written, the matter of the "first demo" is discussed... Soon... Really soon...
